It’s exciting to be a part of this blossoming sport, getting to see how mountain biking and trail development have elevated so many lives around the globe…with no end in sight.

I work at IMBA because of the amazing people in and out of the office. I get to talk about mountain biking with mountain bikers all day long and help further the mission of having great places to ride mountain bikes.

Ride everything. Even if it’s not your primary discipline. Ride as many bikes as you can, learn as much as you can from other builders and then turn it into a style that’s all your own.

I’ve seen the bubble of the coal industry and how the decline of the industry has devastated many of the communities surrounding my hometown. Helping communities and chapters with similar issues look past their economic hardships and embrace the natural assets that surround them is what drives me. Mountain biking changed my life and I believe it can change the lives of countless others if given the opportunity.

Mountain biking is a full-body puzzle. The feeling of accomplishment and confidence you get when you solve a new piece of the puzzle is something that translates far beyond the trail. It’s hugely rewarding to know our work is furthering that feeling.

Aaron is a gearhead by birth and dropper-post lovin' weight-weenie by choice. Having discovered a lifelong love for all things bikes back in Detroit in the early 90's (aboard his fully rigid, budget-minded Nishiki Crossroads, no less) he began racing his bike all over the Michigan woods. This eventually led Aaron to Colorado and eventually to IMBA in 2012 where he works on backcountry mountain bike trail access, policy and legislation as part of the Government Relations team. In his little spare time, Aaron coaches cyclocross at a local high school. His best rides are with his wife and two boys who, after careful crafting, now share his love for riding.
