2027 Grant Information

To grow the quantity and quality of mountain bike trail communities, we need to accelerate the pace of trail building while growing the capacity of trail champions. Trail Accelerator Grants provide a jump-start to communities that have the interest and political support to do this work, but need assistance to get projects up and running or to develop their skills and resources along the way.

In 2027, the Trail Accelerator Grant will have two grant rounds, with each round focusing on different aspects of trail development.

The first grant window will award professional trail planning and design consultation services. Planning is a key first step in trail development that sets the stage for all future work while often leveraging additional investment from local, regional, and national partners.

The second round of grants will provide educational support through our other programs: Trail Care Workshops, funding/capital campaign education, and in-person, facilitated strategic planning for mountain bike/trail organizations.

Check back this fall for dates for these application windows.

Bringing Trails Close to Home

The first round of the 2026 Trail Accelerator Grant opened on January 15 and closed on March 15, specifically for projects needing planning & design services. The second round was open April 1 through April 30 for IMBA education support. If you’d like to plan ahead for the 2027 round, check out the Applicant Toolkit for the planning grant.
