IMBA Local Member Organizations are member-based groups focused on trails, access, rides and social events on close-to-home trails. IMBA works with IMBA Local partners to support and enhance trail building, advocacy and organizational efforts.

IMBA’s vision is to build the quality and quantity of mountain biking communities by supporting and empowering local leadership. We want to help communities build a base of knowledgeable and capable advocates and stewards.

IMBA programs like Trail Accelerator Grant support professional trail planning, while Trail Workshops across the country are helping trail stewards and land managers protect trail investments, and IMBA’s Government Affairs team ensures mountain bikers are part of the national conversation. That’s just a glimpse at the broad, deep impact of today’s IMBA, and how IMBA's national support is available for every community – including yours.

How can you help? Support your nearest chapter, or more than one if you like – individuals can have up to 10 chapter memberships. It's an easy and rewarding way to support the team that knows your local trails.

Answer The Call: Join The Alliance

Trails exist because people like you step up

Your support helps fund:

Trail construction and maintenance     |     Tools, equipment, and materials     |     Advocacy and land access efforts     |     Community events and group rides     |     Partnerships that expand riding opportunities

Money raised and volunteer support have helped accomplish big goals including the purchase of equipment being used throughout the region to build new trails and maintain the ones we already have along with the overall expansion of the trail networks at Carvins Cove and Mill Mountain. We've hosted numerous social events like the bicycle film series at The Grandin Theater and the All of Mill scavenger hunt and we're active behind the scenes in way too many ways to list here.

Some of what's to come:

  • A rework of the trails at Morningside Park to make them both more accessible and progressive.
  • An expansion of the skills loop in Vic Thomas Park next to the Roanoke River Greenway
  • Completing our reroute of Trough Trail and other projects at Carvins Cove
  • More of the Bicycle Film Series at The Grandin Theatre.
  • Consultation and guidance for grassroots groups interested in expanding mountain biking opportunities in their communities

Join now and help make sure we continue to have great places to ride for all.
