Dig In Application Details

This project will target the development of green trails at Wildwood Park, in downtown Florence, Alabama. This city park already has 6 miles of intermediate to advanced trails within it, but there are not many opportunities for beginners to enjoy this amazing resource. We want to change that.

The green trails in this project to be constructed will provide connectivity and access from the parking areas to the majority of the trail system. Currently, access requires a steep, technical climb, which is not appropriate for less experienced riders. Once riders reach the main trail system, they can access a variety of trails that are more appropriate for riders of varied skill levels. By developing these 1.5 miles of green trails, the park will be more inclusive and equitable to a diverse group of trail users.
