The Weatherford Mountain Bike Club is raising funds to support the construction and maintenance of a kids’ mountain bike skills area and trail located at the downtown Aledo Community Center.

A neglected tennis and basketball court located on the Aledo Community Center property will be converted into a mountain bike skills area complete with trail, small rollers, berms, rock gardens and bridges suitable for kids and beginners. Additionally, approximately 1480 linear feet of singletrack trail will be constructed on the property to help beginners progress to riding more difficult mountain bike trails. Ultimately, the singletrack trail will continue on to adjacent city properties and comprise
approximately 4,820 linear feet.

The trail project is in close proximity to the Vandagriff Elementary School and the Aledo Middle School, making access easy for kids. The trail project goal is to provide a trail at the community center where kids can learn the fundamentals of mountain biking.
