Brundage Mountain to Bear Basin Trail Phase 2
McCall, Idaho
Helping fund the 3-mile second phase trail of an 8-mile project that will connect the existing USFS Bear Basin Trail system, a stacked loop non-motorized trail system just west of McCall, ID to the variety of lift accessible and cross country trails at Brundage Mountain Resort.
This trail will be an integral part of a larger trail system and master plan that is being built in the Greater Bear Basin area and provide a connection between several existing trails and 2 currently unconnected trail systems. This is a non-motorized trail that will be open to bike and pedestrian traffic. In addition, it will be heavily utilized by the local recreation community which is made up of MTB, Gravel and Adventure bikers, hikers, trail runners, birdwatchers and foragers. It will also provide another component and demonstrate a growing trail system for our IMBA Silver Ride Center status. Phase 1 and 2 will also provide a great training trail for our local NICA cycling team which is made up of over 80 students. This project is also a great example of a collaborative approach to building more trails on public lands.
