Stronger Organizations Build Better Trails — October 8–9, 2026

The heart of every great trail system is a dedicated group of local advocates. But we know that running a successful trail nonprofit takes more than just a passion for the ride; it takes strategic leadership, sustainable funding, and a powerful network. Nonprofits serve as an essential bridge between public land management agencies and the communities they serve. Trail organizations mobilize volunteers, engage stakeholders, and build public support.

By cultivating grassroots advocacy and stewardship, your organization’s projects will reflect community needs while generating long-term public buy-in and shared ownership. The IMBA Local Leadership Summit is designed specifically to empower organizations by providing a program dedicated to strengthening the effectiveness, sustainability, and impact of the nonprofits that make trails possible.

When local organizations are healthy and well-managed, the results show up on the ground. By equipping your leadership with new skills and stronger relationships, you aren’t just improving your local trail organization; you are directly improving the trails in your community.
 

Travel Logistics

Airport: Albuquerque Airport is about an hour away from Glorieta Adventure Camp. Southwest Airlines has affordable flights available, and the airport serves all major airlines.

Bike Rentals: There are several bike rentals available in Santa Fe. A list can be found here.

Lodging Information

There are a number of AirBnBs and VRBOs in the area.

Lodging is available at Glorieta Camp. Contact the camp ahead of time to reserve.  Guests will be required to sign a waiver.

     Rate: $219 USD per night

     Rate: $189 USD per night 
     Last day to book: September 7, 2026
