Lea is a Michigan native who has gained her love for cycling pedaling throughout the streets of Detroit on a beat-up commuter. Upon moving to the west cost she began riding trail, she continues to learn and gain expertise with two wheels on the dirt. Located in Salt Lake City, Lea is currently exploring the beauty of diverse trail systems throughout the Southwest. Lea is a passionate environmentalist, and is frequently cleaning up trails, parks, and beaches. 

"My first mountain bike experience was on a borrowed hybrid bicycle on steep river bluff trails in Nebraska. Stretching the limits of center-pull brakes and 35c tires, I was hooked! Mountain biking has since provided me with the most amazing life experiences as a rider, advocate, trail builder, promoter, retailer, coach and racer. Making all of that even more amazing are the wonderful people I have come to know and ride with along the way. Hit me up and let’s go ride!"

I work for IMBA because of the positive change that our staff, members and partners make in communities across the country. Our work creates great places to ride mountain bikes. Local kids, families, business and visitors benefit from that, and I do, too!

Mountain biking is a full-body puzzle. The feeling of accomplishment and confidence you get when you solve a new piece of the puzzle is something that translates far beyond the trail. It’s hugely rewarding to know our work is furthering that feeling.
