Our Adaptive Liaisons have been hard at work getting folks of all abilites on bikes! Here's a roundup of what's been going on in adaptive mountain biking and how you can get involved.
1:1 adaptive rides. Last month, MORE helped put together an inaugural Adaptive Ambassador Training. Around a dozen mountain bikers were trained in disabilities and disabilities etiquette, general ride leading, and AMTB mechanics. Since then, we've organized two rides led by our new ambassadors. Interested in becoming an Adaptive Ambassador? Email [email protected]. Adaptive MTB Days. Know someone with disabilities who's interested in getting on a mountain bike? There are Adaptive MTB Days happening on July 14 (Patpasco), August 4 (Wheaton Regional), and September 15 (Patapsco). More info coming soon.
Building trails for everyone. Tall Poplar in Patapsco, the first adaptive trail in a Maryland State Park, is proof that adaptive trails can be fun for all trail users. Friends of Patapsco Valley State Park is working on expanding adaptive ride opportunities in the park, and we need you to help make that happen! Donate to the adaptive trail project through the button below. We're about halfway to the $5,000 mark. Once we hit $5,000, Shimano will match those funds!
