2006 Toronto Hot Spot Campaign Off to a Great Start

More than 35 Toronto area mountain bikers showed up at Sport Swap last Friday, March 24, to kick off the yearlong Toronto Urban Hot Spot campaign. Key sponsor, the Bicycle Trade Association of Canada (BTAC), and host city, Toronto, opened with some words of welcome and inspiration, followed by a slideshow by IMBA Canada's Mark Schmidt and Lora Woolner. Designating Toronto as an "IMBA Urban Hot Spot" has already helped to raise awareness of mountain bike issues in the GTA. Opportunities for increased trail access look promising for 2006 and beyond.
