IMBA Tracking Wilderness Bills Before Congress
-- (02-15-07) 2007 promises to be an active year for Wilderness bills. IMBA is tracking several bills that have already been introduced, and we expect others will be submitted in upcoming months.
Action Alert: Forest Service Announces Plans for So-Cal: -- (10-09-05) In late September of 2005, the Forest Service released Revised Land and Resource Management Plans for Southern California's Angeles, Cleveland, Los Padres and San Bernardino National Forests.
Tell Congress to Change California Wilderness Bill: -- (07-07-05) Mountain bikers nationwide are urged to ask Congressman Greg Walden (R-OR), the chairman of the House Resources Subcommittee on Forest and Forest Health, to delay action on the Northern California Wilderness bill until compromises are reached to accommodate mountain biking.
North Coast Wilderness Bill would ban bicycling from 200+ trail miles also in pdf format: -- (02-23-04) IMBA's newest tally of the trails in Representative Mike Thompson's Wilderness bill indicates that it would close more than 200 miles of trails to bicycling.
