2004 IMBA/RTCA Project List

(January, 2004) Seven trail projects with RTCA in 2004.

Albuquerque, New Mexico

  • Taught IMBA Trailbuilding School
  • Built a terrain park

Angel Fire, New Mexico

  • IMBA Trail Solutions jointly facilitated a meeting with RTCA field staff bringing together leaders in the Angel Fire trail community.
  • Planned a Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew visit in 2005.

Hanover, New Hampshire

  • Educated decision makers, trail users and conservationists in sustainable trailbuilding and the benefits of shared-use trails.
  • Taught an IMBA Trailbuilding School to 20 local volunteers.
  • Assessed 2 miles of existing trail for sustainability.

Chattanooga, Tennessee

  • Assessed the potential for trails in the Chattanooga area.
  • Participated in a meeting of government officials, land managers and trail users to promote the Singletrack Mind Initiative (100 miles of trail within 10 miles of Chattanooga by 2010).

Fairbanks and Palmer, Alaska

  • Taught multiple IMBA Trailbuilding Schools.
  • Built, Designed, Maintained miles of trail.
  • Featured in local newspapers.

Black Canyon Trail, Arizona

  • IMBA Trail Solutions assessed the southern half of the 69 mile Black Canyon Trail corridor.
  • IMBA Trail Solutions designed more than 25 miles of loop trails.
  • Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crews and IMBA Trail Solutions taught multiple IMBA Trailbuilding Schools to OHV, hiking, mountain biking, and equestrian organizations.
  • IMBA Trail Solutions proposed phased plan for trail construction, trailhead location, and volunteer collaboration.
  • When complete, the Black Canyon Trail System has the potential for more than150 miles of trail.
  • Joint project between BLM and RTCA.
