Canyonlands National Park, Utah
This park has outstanding riding in all three districts: Island in the Sky, Needles and The Maze. The world famous 100-mile White Rim Trail is located in this park, but there is no singletrack open to mountain biking.
Mammoth Cave National Park, Kentucky
Mammoth Cave includes some of the best singletrack riding in all the National Parks. The Turnhole Bend and Sow Hollow trails offer mountain bikers approxmately 17 miles of singletrack. The local Bowling Green League of Bicyclists have a successful mountain biking partnership with Mammoth Cave. Read a 1999 IMBA story: Mammoth Cave National Park Opens Trails to Mountain Bikers.
Redwood National Park, California
Redwood has converted miles of old logging roads into great mountain biking routes, including the Holter Ridge Trail and the Coastal Trail - a six-mile drop from ridge to ocean. There are a total of 51 miles of routes open to biking.
Saguaro National Park, Arizona
Saguaro is home to the first National Park singletrack opened to mountain bikes - the 2.5-mile Cactus Forest Trail. The trail was reopened in 2003 following a legal threat.
Wrangell/St. Elias National Park, Alaska
Mountain bikers in this remote park can access overnight cabins - if they're willing to ride old mining roads and ford icy streams.
