TRACKS is a group of over 350 volunteers who plan, build and maintain over 200 miles of trails, the White Mountains Trail System, for mountain bikers, hikers, equestrians and trail runners in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests of northeast Arizona. The A-S is part of the largest Ponderosa pine forest in the US, which stretches from the Flagstaff AZ area eastward into New Mexico. Major trails in the WMTS are loops, with connector trails, so that users can go on short or long excursions. Trail maps are free on www.tracks-pinetop-lakeside.org. Annually, TRACKS works with Epic Rides (www.epicrides.com) of Tucson to put on the Tour of the White Mountains, in which mountain bike riders can choose rides of 10, 15, 35 or 60 miles in the WMTS.
