Trail work returns to Gaviota State Park after almost 10 years! SBMTV invites you to take part in maintaining the (yes, it’s name is) Trespass Trail which travels from Gaviota Peak through the Los Padres National Forest and into Gaviota State Park below Gaviota Hot Springs. If you have used this trail, you’ll remember how different it is from our front and backcountry trails. It travels through a few different eco systems and geologies and provides some unique views of the coast.
Brush has almost completely closed sections of this trail to hikers, equestrians, and cyclists. We will be coordinating with State Park Rangers and the Los Padres National Forest to cut brush on as much of the trail as we can get done. Volunteers will be transported to the upper and lower trails heads
REI will be supporting this event with staff and snacks. A Santa Barbara Chicken Ranch BBQ will be provided at 2pm at the parking area.
