The International Mountain Bicycling Association is pleased to welcome terry [dot] breheny [at] imba [dot] com (Terry Breheny) as Events Manager. He joins the Boulder-based IMBA team in Colorado as a full-time staffer after serving part-time as an Electronic Communications Specialist.

Breheny will be responsible for managing IMBA's involvement in regional and national events, such as the National Bike Summit, the Sea Otter Classic and Interbike. He will also oversee planning of IMBA's biennial World Summit conference. "We're thrilled to have Terry officially join our staff, having been a valued member of our extended IMBA family over the last year and a half," says Executive Director Mike Van Abel.

With a background in new media, Breheny's acclaimed digital short "Fixie Dave" screened across the country in last year's Bicycle Film Festival. No stranger to cycling advocacy, Breheny was a member of the Colorado Mountain Bike Association (COMBA) board of directors for 4 years — introducing and coordinating the local celebration of IMBA's annual "Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day" event. In 2009, he was elected president of COMBA, where he spearheaded the recently completed Golden Bike Park project.

"I'm happy to join IMBA in a position where I can share my passion for bicycling while spreading the gospel of the outstanding work this organization does daily," says Breheny. A lifelong cyclist and Colorado native, he purchased his first mountain bike in 1986 while attending the University of Colorado. He currently resides in Golden, with his wife and three children.
