2016 Summit Marks Highest Attendance in Event’s History

Boulder, Colo.—The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) is excited to announce that the 2016 IMBA World Summit taking place in Bentonville, Arkansas, is sold out. With less than one week to go before the summit officially opens, all aspects of the summit including the educational seminars, exhibitor showcases, the Railyard presentation with Hans Rey and Danny MacAskill as well as the VIP Experience are sold out.

For the first time in IMBA’s history of hosting this biennial event in communities including Whistler, British Columbia; Augusta, Georgia and Bentonville, Arkansas, this year marks the highest attendance yet and first ever sold out event. The summit was developed to educate mountain bike advocates on important topics affecting our community and introduce them to new riding opportunities around the globe.

Last October a special press conference was held to announce Bentonville as the host city for the 2016 IMBA World Summit, where Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson and Visit Bentonville President Kalene Griffith joined IMBA to express enthusiasm for what bringing the IMBA World Summit to Bentonville would mean for the community.

“We are thrilled the IMBA World Summit is sold out. Bentonville has embraced mountain biking as a tourism driver for the Northwest Arkansas territory, and we are excited to partner with IMBA to show summit attendees what the Ozarks are all about,” said Griffith.

Aimee Ross, IMBA’s Director of Business Development, said, “Working with the community in Bentonville and Northwest Arkansas has been one of the best parts of my job this year. I’m excited to show the larger mountain biking community what I’ve discovered Bentonville to be.”

Registration for the IMBA World Summit has been open since April. All activities encompassing the summit are only available to those paying attendees and transfer of attendance is prohibited. For those who have missed out for 2016, stay tuned for details on the 2018 World Summit.

For those who purchased a ticket to only the Railyard event, please note you will need to pick up your pass at the gate for each ticketed consumer.
