IMBA, with support from REI, introduces Teaming for Trails, a national initiative to engage individuals, families and entire communities in volunteerism through the IMBA network. Last year, the dedicated volunteers in IMBA's chapters and clubs logged more than 600,000 service hours. The new program wll expand on that success by offering new resources for our affiliate network. With REI's support, IMBA will rally communities to build and maintain thousands additional trail miles for mountain bikers and other trail enthusiasts to enjoy.
By accumulating 20 hours of volunteer work with your local club or chapter, participants gain access to special deals at ProMotive.com for 30 days. ProMotive.com is an online marketplace where outdoor manufacturers make their products available at significant discounts to pros and individuals who play key roles in their communities. Your local club or chapter will provide you with a ProMotive.com code once you have completed the required volunteer hours.
Teaming for Trails features a great interface for recording volunteer hours, finding events and more:
Note: You must be listed in IMBA's database as the "primary contact" for an IMBA club or chapter with a current membership to register your organization for the Teaming for Trails program.
Teaming for Trails will record the efforts of IMBA's grassroots nework with better accuracy and stronger incentives than ever before. We are just getting rolling, but watch the Teaming for Trails web pages this year to see the numbers of events — and the associated hours of volunteerism — reach new heights.
