Submit Comments on the Lake Tahoe Management Plan
Use the below talking points and send your comments to the USFS and help shape the management of mountain biking in the Lake Tahoe Basin.
- I support "Alternative B". The preferred alternative is a well thought out, scientific approach to managing this treasured landscape.
- I encourage the Forest Service to engage in a non-motorized trail planing effort that will provide the Lake Tahoe Basin with a diverse set of trail experiences and connectivity to areas around the lake and to other public lands that boarder the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit.
- I am in favor of the Forest Service making recommendations to Congress for permanent management designations (but not wilderness) that allow for the current forms of recreation in the areas of proposed wilderness in options C and D.
- I am not in favor of the wilderness proposals as described in options C and D because of their significant limitations to current recreation in those areas, and the fact that there is no scientific basis identified in the Draft EIS that relates wilderness designations to watershed improvement and/or lake clarity.
