Calling all riders: Please renew your membership or join Routt County Riders and support your local cycling advocacy organization. With the new IMBA Local Program, more dollars are kept within our organization, which means more trails and cycling advocacy for YOU. 

If you renew your membership in the months of April or May, you will be automatically entered to win a brand new Pivot bike!

As the Yampa Valley and other areas of Routt County begin to thaw, we are eager to hit the trails. Please keep the following in mind: 

- Beall Trail remains closed for wildlife until June 30th

- Mad Creek and Red Dirt are open and drying quickly

- Please do NOT ride on wet or muddy trails. If your tires are leaving a rut, they are too wet. If you encounter puddles on trails, please dismount and walk over them. Riding around puddles causes trail widening and environmental damage. 

- Provide any trail condition updates to Trailforks.com so that other riders may know what to expect

The Tour de Steamboat is an annual bicycle event that brings together 1,000 cyclists for a one-day ride through beautiful Northwest Colorado. Names like Rabbit Ears Pass, Gore Pass, Yellow Jacket Pass, Stagecoach, Yampa and Oak Creek dot this incredible route, and 4 mileage options offer something for riders of all ages and abilities. It is a non-competitive event, and participants are encouraged to ride at their own pace and enjoy the majestic scenery in our part of the world! The tour offers superb aid stations, support and end of the ride barbecue and beer garden with local microbrews.

The Tour de Steamboat is an all-volunteer event with all proceeds going directly to the beneficiary non-profits. It’s all for the riders and all for the charities – register now!

This year marks the 8th Annual Steamboat Stinger. The Steamboat Stinger, now a Colorado classic, aims to provide a challenging backcountry race experience showcasing some of Steamboat Springs’ finest singletrack. The Steamboat Stinger is also a fundraiser for Partners in Routt County (local youth mentoring group) and for us--Routt County Riders!

In addition to the Saturday mountain bike race, there is a full and half trail marathon on Sunday. These two events can be separate or, if you wish to take the ultimate challenge, you can participate in both – the 50 mile solo mountain bike race as well as the 26.2 trail marathon the following day. The male and female winners with the lowest combined bike and run times shall be crowned King Sting and Queen Bee.

NEW THIS YEAR! Not ready to take on the full Queen Bee or King Sting? Go halvsies with the Bumble Bee! Take your duo lap time and combine it with your half marathon time for a chance to win. Bumble Bee prizes will be offered to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for the top male and female winners.
