Jasper NP, IMBA Canada Trail Care Crew Visit

The International Mountain Bicycling Association Canada is coming to Alberta! Chad and Deanne Lazaruk of the IMBA Canada Trail Care Crew will be in Jasper National Park for a Trailbuilding School.

The Crew teaches “sustainable” trail building, which means building trails that last a long time and require minimal maintenance. This helps reduce trail damage, protects the environment, and enhances visitor enjoyment.

Participation is limited so please register early! For more information, contact Marcia DeWandel by email, or at 780-852-6204.

Schedule

Wednesday Oct 27

7 PM - 9:30 PM: Japer Trails Introduction by Park staff and Trailbuilding Theory by IMBA Canada, located at the EMS Building, 581 Geikie St, Jasper.

Thursday Oct 28

1 PM - 4 PM: Field work, meet at the Jackman House (411 Patricia Street) with gloves, snacks and appropriate clothing. We will carpool/ bike to the site and hike in.

Friday Oct 29

11 AM - 4 PM: Field work continued, meet at the Jackman House (411 Patricia Street) with gloves, snacks and appropriate clothing. We will carpool/ bike to the site and hike in.

7 PM onward: Social gathering, location TBA
