Level 1 Ride Guide Certification Course - Brown County IN
Course Length = 8 hours
Course Price = $225 (Current IMBA membership required)
Completion of the course will qualify an individual to:
- Lead individual or group mountain bike rides
- Assess the level of each rider in their group
- Make responsible choices in picking trail routes for specific groups
- Support IMBA-ICP Instructors and Instructor Trainers at clinics/camps/events
Qualifications = Participants must have a current First Aid & CPR certification and 3 or more years of mountain biking experience. Participants should have good communication skills, be passionate about riding and have a strong desire to help others have more fun and progress safely. Course participants must have the ability to perform basic trailside repair, including fixing flats and broken chains and making shifting adjustments.
Other Information = This Level 1 course will be held in conjunction with the ICP Level 2 course at Brown County State Park. Your IMBA membership must be current to register for any ICP course.
A mountain bike instructor insurance policy for Level 1 Ride Guide is not required if you are working with an RJF insured IMBA chapter or club. Go here for more information.
A manual is included in the course fee.
Tuesday's session is 5-8pm (classroom setting)
Wednesday's session is 9am-2pm (classroom & on bike)
A detailed schedule will be emailed prior to the course.
Cancellation Policy = A partial refund will be given for cancellations made 14 to 21 days before the course date. Full refunds 22 days or more and no refunds 13 days or less before course start date.
Camping is available free of charge at the Brown County State Park Rally Campground for course participants. Additional lodging is available outside of the State Park.
