Level 2 Certification - Peekskill, NY (HOSTED BY REI)

HANDS-ON TRAINING AND TESTING FOR PROVIDING INTERMEDIATE LEVEL MOUNTAIN BIKE SKILL INSTRUCTION
 
Course Length= 3.25 days  Course includes a classroom portion, field practice, skill demonstrations, refining and analysis, instruction strategies, scenario training, proper skill progressions and much more.ICP Logo

Course Price = $675 for IMBA members. $750 for non-IMBA members.

Completion of the course with passing the practical exams and a written test will qualify an individual to:

  • Provide instruction for beginner and intermediate level riders through clinics/camps/events
  • Recognize different learning styles and provide instruction to best suit 
  • Prepare and implement a lesson plan and tailor to your clients needs when necessary
  • Offer progressions for Level 2 maneuvers to safely improve your clientele's skill level
  • Teach in conjunction with other ICP certified instructors at clinics/camps/events

Medical Qualifications = Basic First Aid and CPR (Red Cross or Equivalent) 

Skill Qualifications:

  • Must hold a current ICP Level 1 Certification
  • Proficiency at performing the riding skills you will learn to teach: Braking, Shifting, Ratcheting, Tight Turns, Cornering, Climbing & Descending Maneuvers, Wheel Lifts, Roll Downs, etc.  Please review our LEVEL 2 SKILLS VIDEO which displays these required skills.
  • Registrants should have five or more years of mountain biking experience, good communication and personable skills, and be passionate about riding with a strong desire to help others have more fun and progress safely. 
  • Please review all LEVEL 2 course prerequisites and complete list of skills
- A manual and all course materials are included in the course fee.
- Day one is 5-8pm (classroom setting).
- Days 2-4 are approximately 9am-5pm with an hour break for lunch.
- A schedule will be emailed prior to the course.

Cancellation Policy = A $25 admin fee will be charged to all course cancelations.  Partial refunds may be given for cancellations made 14 to 21 days before the course date, and NO refunds 13 days or less.
