Join IMBA Upper Midwest and IMBA Great Lakes for an epic mountain bike summit in Marquette, MI, June 12-14. This bronze-level Ride Center will play the perfect host to several days of learning, networking and great rides

This year, IMBA’s Great Lakes and Upper Midwest regions are joining forces to present the IMBA Great Midwest Mountain Bike Summit, June 12-14, in one of IMBA’s newest Bronze-level Ride Centers: Marquette, MI. Join local advocates, land managers and industry representatives to engage in chapter leadership discussions, learn new ways to involve local bicycle industry in trails efforts, and ride fantastic trails. Bring the whole family, as there are many activities in the greater Upper Peninsula for all ages. Consider including a trip to IMBA’s Silver-level Ride Center in Copper Harbor and an “epic” summer vacation has nearly planned itself!

On this adventure the kids will hit the trails with local guides exploring some of the beautiful terrain the Upper Peninsula is known for. Along the way we will be teaching the kids the ins and outs of utilizing a GoPro to capture their adventures. After the ride we will tackle the editing with the kids and then present the finished product to the parents at one of the evening events!

Friday, June 12th – All Friday Rides Will Meet at Hampton Inn, Marquette

6:00 pm Harlow Lake (Advanced/Technical)
If you like Technical trails, challenging climbs and ripping descents this is the ride for you!  This ride will take you north of Marquette where the terrain is very rocky with twisting trails that sport great views overlooking Harlow Lake and Lake Superior. This will be an advanced/technical level ride with an intermediate ride possible depending on interest level.  Riders will carpool to trailhead from Hampton Inn. 

7:00 pm South Trails (Intermediate)
Do you want to ride great single track with a little bit of everything?  Than the Marquette South Trails are calling your name! This ride will take you on flow, technical, and scenic hand build trails. We will start through downtown and make our way to the trails, and end by riding along Lake superior. This will be an intermediate level ride leaving directly from the Hampton Inn.

8:00 pm Collinsville (Beginner)
This is a great evening ride on very scenic trails along the Dead river. These trails have good flow and are great for all riders looking for a relaxed ride with friends and family. This ride will start and end by riding along the beaches of Lake Superior. This ride will be great for beginners or anyone looking to go on a relaxed ride.  Riders will carpool to trailhead from Hampton Inn.  

Saturday, June 13th  Featured Group Ride on the RAMBA Trails
4:00 Range Area Mountain Bike Trails - Meet at Jasper Ridge Brewery & Restaurant, Ishpeming
*shuttle signup will be available Saturday morning at check-in/registration

RAMBA Trails (Intermediate – Advanced)
The Westend's Motto is "trails built with love by twisted singletrack minds"!  Expect plenty of rocks, roots, punchy climbs, beautiful vistas, flowy downhills and a mosquito or two!  All trails are handbuilt and will test your technical abilities! The ride will split into groups to accommodate various abilities and desired ride length. 

Iron Ore Heritage Trail (Beginner-Easy)
For those looking for an easy evening cruise, a guided roll down 18 miles of the Iron Ore Heritage Trail multiuse pathway is available. The ride will start at Jasper Ridge in Ishpeming, pass through Negaunee, and end at the Ore Dock Brewery in Marquette.  Along the way you’ll lose 800 feet in elevation and get to take in the history dating back to 1845 via mine sites and interpretive panels along the paved and crushed limestone route.  Riders will enjoy diverse scenery along the way including historic communities, forests, wetlands, granite walls, and possibly trains carrying ore pellets to the docks in Marquette.  This is a great family ride!
