MBoSC members exemplify the fun and community that we call mountain biking in Santa Cruz. Our success in securing and developing riding opportunities is directly attributable to our members. We completed the Emma McCrary Trail, Santa Cruz County’s first new legal single track since 1998. Work is starting on a new flow trail in Soquel Demonstration State Forest, featuring 4.5 miles of berms and flow fun with a skills area at the end. New pump tracks in Scotts Valley, Santa Cruz and Live Oak are well underway.
MBoSC’s public events continue to raise the visibility of mountain biking in Santa Cruz County. The Santa Cruz Mountain Bike Festival is a 100% volunteer powered event featuring family fun, kids’ rodeo, skills clinics, racing events and expo center. The Santa Cruz Super Enduro race at the Soquel Demo Forest provides opportunities for those with a competitive bent to match their skills against their heros. Join us at our monthly meeting at Seabright Brewery at 7pm on the second Monday of the month. And, make sure to “like” us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/mtbsantacruz) and join the mailing list (firstname.lastname@example.org) to learn about more social opportunities and trail development. Our member base gives us leverage in meetings with land managers and elected officials when seeking access to lands for trails, which means more rideable single track for you. To more trails!
