Led construction of community bike park project that featured extensive coordination of volunteers and donated equipment and materials. IMBA staff worked closely with local advocates and neighbors to address concerns about visual impacts to adjacent residents.
Create conceptual site design and trail renderings for proposed urban bike skills area. Mountain bike park will be developed in conjunction with on-road skills training area being designed by the League of American Bicyclists.
Visited several sites within the community to assess them for opportunities and constraints pursuant to developing a community bike park. Gave presentations to mountain bicyclists, land managers, and other stakeholders about the benefits of urban bike parks, including a discussion of success stories from North America and the world.

Located right in the heart of Boulder, Colorado, the facility is destined to be a hub of the cycling community. After breaking ground, locals knew the project was going to be big when it started with bulldozers and excavators, rather than shovels and rakes.

Over the last few years IMBA has worked closely with federal agencies to protect and conserve public lands while providing opportunities for recreation. One great example is the King Range Trail System in Northern California.
