Recently, some of IMBA’s female staff took a weekend trip together to Fruita, Colo. for some great riding and relaxation time. Here are our top reasons why you should plan an all-women mountain biking trip:

  • It’s a great chance to enjoy deeper conversations with your friends or coworkers.
  • Sharing great food and cocktails—for some of us it’s the perfect excuse to have a beer and a cheddar brat for lunch.
  • You always have someone to borrow a hair tie from.
  • Passing gas is not only totally acceptable but encouraged. Bonus: the endless laughter it provides creates a serious abdominal workout.
  • There is absolutely nothing as invigorating as following the lines of a great girlfriend down some gnarly chunder!
  • Being outdoors, for three straight days on bikes, burns the office funk out of your system.
  • Unplugging around a campfire with a crew of ladies provides amazingly ridiculous and hilarious conversation.
  • Sessioning lines with the ladies is the best. You can trust your lady crew to spot, motivate and push your boundaries only with your best intentions in mind.
  • Friends are the best medicine. A trip with the ladies is always good for the soul.
  • Experiencing the world around you is more meaningful when you share it with friends.
