NMBP Groups in the News

Two hardworking National Mountain Bike Patrol groups appeared in their local newspapers recently, giving them a chance highlight some of the goals of the NMBP — medical response and trail advocacy.

The Backcountry Trail Patrol, located near Minneapolis, often goes beyond their name by patrolling road running races, where they bring their seven portable defibrillators. This past Sunday, the St. Paul Pioneer Press described the patrol group's role in the Twin Cities Marathon and the importance of having those defibrillators close at hand for saving lives. Read all about it here.

The Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Patrol, out of Crosby, MN, was featured in the August edition of the Brainerd Dispatch's health magazine. A funny cover photo pulls readers into a story full of great information about the patrol group and its greater IMBA chapter, the Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Crew. That story can be found here.

For other patrol groups who would like to learn more about patrolling races and events, check out the NMBP resources page.

Many thanks to these groups for their dedication!
