As chapters of the NMBP grow in size and professionalism, they are reaping the benefits of training directly with other emergency response organizations.
Central Ohio's Chapter of the National Mountain Bike Patrol organized a joint training exercise with Genoa Township Fire Department (GTFD) that was held on April 5, 2014. The goals of the training were to strengthen the relationship between NMBP and the local first responders, to make plans for more efficient emergency medical responses, to practice skills related to the extraction of injured trail users from the woods, and to compare notes about recent trends in medical emergencies on the trail.
Regular joint training exercises will be planned for the future, with more complicated medical tasks and cooperation drills each time. For more information, contact James Landon, Central Ohio's NMBP Coordinator at combopatrol [at] gmail [dot] com or visit https://www.facebook.
