I'm Marty Caivano, IMBA's new Field Programs Coordinator. My job is to keep our folks with their feet (and tires) on the ground rolling forward.
I get to call people all over the United States and help them prepare for visits from the Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew. Right now I'm working with a lot of folks in the South, and as a Colorado native, it's fascinating to learn about all the riding options in Georgia, Arkansas and Alabama. It makes me want to go to every one of those visits! If you live in that neck of the woods, try to make it to one... it's a fun opportunity to learn about sustainable trail building and get your hands dirty.
In addition, I work to support our National Mountain Bike Patrollers in their good deeds. This vast network of riders keeping an eye on their local trails and improving visitor experiences is a great asset to trail users everywhere.
So while it's winter here in Boulder and things are are quiet outside my window, I'm looking forward to having a front-row seat for the action unfolding across the U.S. this year.
