There was much anticipation last week as the Trail Solutions team working in West Virginia made final preparations for the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Arrow Core to begin building new singletrack at New River Gorge. The TS team scribed trail notes, placed as few more pin flags, and attended a handful of meetings.
After wrapping up crew leader training on Monday, the team spent the rest of the week assisting the National Park Service and the Boy Scouts of America to make sure that the project is ready to roll. As one could imagine, it takes more than just a few hours to ensure that everything goes off without a hitch. The event, dubbed The New River Experience, has actually been years in the making.
It’s hard to believe that in just four weeks there will be a new and improved trail system at the New River Gorge. It’s guaranteed to be well worth the wait.
