Economic impact of trails presentation given in support of North Shore single track
I spent the day on the North Shore of Lake Superior today. In conjunction with Scott Chapin (IMBA FOX Hero) giving a talk to community members on how trails can impact their towns both economically and socially. We had a great turn out of about 25 folks, business owners, land managers, tourism officials and advocates alike. The project has some huge potential as the USFS seems to be very committed to making it work, the local club (soon to be an IMBA Chapter) Superior Cycling Association have some big opportunities. In mid June we will be hosting a Trail Care Crew visit as well as helping out when the 300 plus Boy Scouts come to start cutting the 18 mile planned trail system.
