In the past several years I have had the pleasure to work closely with Kevin Hardman and the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin. The work that Kevin and the BFW are doing in WI is truly changing the game for WI cycling. Lately IMBA and the BFW have been working on some partnerships that I think will really pick WI off road cycling up and put it back on its feet again. I cant yet say what that partnership is or will look like officially until the ink is dry but suffice to say it is going to be solid and effective.
However with that said, last week yours truly dropped the ball on a few things. First I pre-empted an announcement about another partnership, that of WORBA and the BFW, one that is in process and that hopefully (despite my early cries of success) will still go down as that is perhaps the most important partnership WI off road cycling can have with the BFW.
Even worse however was the fact that not only did I botch the announcement I also called the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin the "Wisconsin Bicycle Federation". Now to some folks that might seem minor but as a person who works for IMBA (International Mountain Bicycling (not bike) Association) I realize the pain of people using your name wrong. Also as we move forward to partner with the BFW, I think it is important that Kevin and the BFW know that screwing up the name like that is not being a good partner and I apologize wholeheartedly. In fact the picture above is me going to "school" and writing the name correctly on a card to Kevin 60 plus times to make sure I dont screw it up again.
Sorry Kevin, keep up the great work and we look forward to all the great work IMBA will do with you in the future!
