The Value of A Pump Track
Northwest Trail Alliance (NWTA), a chapter of IMBA, has worked dilligently to provide riding opportunities in Portland, Oregon, a location known to mountain bicyclists as one of the worst large cities in North America for trail access. Not to be discouraged, when given a little-used park on the far east edge of the city limits, NWTA dug deep into their volunteer resources to build a fun pump track.
This video could not more clearly portray the value of a pump track: a low-impact, low-cost facility that is a magnet for kids. Congratulations to NWTA for helping to build the next generation of riders!
