Trek Trail Building Fund Helps Colorado Springs Bike Park
Medicine Wheel, IMBA’s chapter in Colorado Springs, CO, was the recent recipient of Trek Trail Building Funds that went to rebuild the existing Goose Gosage Bike Park. Thanks to countless hours by SRAM’s Cory Sutela and Tammy Donahugh (IMBA’s hardworking Instructor Certification Program Manager), Trail Specialist Randy Spangler was able to perform a whirlwind visit that over a couple of days resulted in huge pump track and revamped dirt jumps.
In addition to Trail Building Fund support Medicine Wheel won a $1K grant from IMBA/Fox Racing Shox and raised $2K through a local fundraiser. All of the dirt and delivery fees were donated by C&C Sand and Stone in Colorado Springs, and the Parks and Recreation Department supported the project with employees, a water truck, and a soon-to-be-installed fence. Medicine Wheel provided the handtools and renting the equipment.
Special thanks are due to Sara Jarrell, Anthony Amis, Mike Ambrose, and Alison Jones who were out working each day of the project, showing their dedication to the riders in The Springs.
