Trail Solutions Helps NICA Students Create New Trails

The Park City Center for Advanced Professional Studies (PCCAPS) gives high-school students the opportunity to develop and hone their career skills by immersing them in real-world situations. Licensed instructors provide guidance on projects and professionalism, and practical training provides the framework for future work.

Recently, Trail Solutions project manager Alex Harrington worked with three PCCAPS students who are also NICA racers. For their project, the students are designing a NICA race course on the trails IMBA is building at Powder Mountain Resort. They received training on the use of field tools and design techniques, and were able to apply their experience as racers to guide the layout of the course.

It is promising to see young riders take an interest in racing, professional development, and trail work. We can assume the future of our sport is in good hands!
