New Flow Trail Takes Shape in Hailey, Idaho
Trail Solutions, in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), is building a new flow trail in Croy Canyon just west of Hailey, Idaho. Anchoring the southern end of the fabled Sun Valley area trails, the Croy Canyon trail network is within riding distance of town and provides opportunities for hikers, trail runners, equestrians, off-road motorcyles, and mountain bicyclists.
Working together, cyclists and the BLM decided to offer a greater variety of mountain bicycle trails, resulting in several bike-specific singletracks. When it came time to create the latest and best iteration of this concept the BLM turned to Trail Solutions, who has worked extensively with the agency in Idaho, California, and Oregon.
The resulting Punchline Trail will have plenty of berms and rollers to stimulate and challenge riders as they descend down two flat ridges. The one-two punch of a TrailDozer followed by a mini-excavator makes quick work of the sage-studded landscape and the new trail is rapidly materializing, much to the delight of the BLM, the builders, and local riders.
Special thanks to Anasazi Trails and Progressive Trail Design for their outstanding assistance.
