The Future of Mountain Biking, Thanks to the Northwest Trails Alliance
Earlier this year, the Northwest Trails Alliance (a chapter of IMBA) organized a summer camp focused on mountain biking skills, trail stewardship, teamwork, and exercise. Twenty youths from Portland, Oregon, took advantage of a first-ever event that was supported by Portland Parks and Recreation and made possible by NWTA volunteers. This video recaps the four-day camp with interviews from the young riders, and their instructors and guides. The video includes significant footage of kids riding the Sandy Ridge Trail System, a partnership between NWTA, the Bureau of Land Management, and IMBA's Trail Solutions program.
The camp would not have been possible without several key partners including the Bicycle Transportation Alliance, Dirt Dojo, the Lumberyard Indoor Bicycle Park, Portland Audubon Society, Treadwerks, Bureau of Land Management, and backing from the IMBA HucknRoll grant and the Bike Gallery.
