We build trails all around the world, and unfortunately it is not uncommon for us to build trails in locations where we visit only infrequently. That is why it is so important to have trails that we can build and test ride repeatedly over the course of several years.
An example of this is the Sandy Ridge Trail (SRT) system outside Sandy, Oregon. Trail Solutions, in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management and local IMBA chapter Northwest Trail Alliance, is constructing a high-quality, bike-specific trail system. Considering that the neighboring Portland metropolitan area is infamous for its lack of mountain bike singletrack, the Sandy trails provide a needed outlet for riding.
With several Trail Solutions staff located in the area and a progressive land manager, SRT has become one of our trail labratories. We build, we ride, we tweak, we tune, we ride it again: all in the name of providing riders the best experience possible. The trails we develop at SRT then become the models that inform the creation of new trails across North America and the rest of the world: rocky, rooty, flowy, jumpy, bermy, and pumpy. In other words, built to put a smile on your face.
