Duluth Residents Vote to Support Trails
Hansi Johnson, IMBA's Mid-West Regional Director, has been hard at work with the Cyclists of Gitchie Gumee Shores (COGGS) in Duluth, MN. Capitalizing on a grand vision to connect the city with singletrack trails, COGGS was instrumental in rallying the residents to support a $2.6 million parks and recreation bond, a portion of which will be used to create the Duluth Traverse. Details of this inspiring feat are available in this recent article from the Duluth News Tribune.
Trail Solutions utilized funding from the Trek Trail Building Fund to assist COGGS with the planning and design of the Duluth Traverse. This feasibility work helped COGGS speak more knowledgably and passionately about the project, resulting in increased support from the community.
