Bureau of Land Management Staff Tour Sandy Ridge Trail
Braving the rain, two dozen Recreation Planners from the Oregon and Washington offices of the Bureau of Land Management visit the Sandy Ridge Trail system earlier this week. Included as part of a three-day training, the field visit included a tour of representative trails and a preview of the new trailhead.
Trail Solutions staff Shane Wilson and Chris Bernhardt assisted BLM Recreation Planner Zach Jarrett in highlighting lessons learned and discussing how to improve mountain biking opportunities at other BLM sites. The BLM is host to a significant number of other destination-quality mountain bike systems, including trails around Sun Valley, Grand Junction, Moab, Paradise Royale, and Gooseberry Mesa, and the BLM and IMBA frequently work together to improve these facilities.
