RTP on the Chopping Block Again
UPDATE: CONGRESS VOTED FOR A 2-YEAR EXTENSION OF RTP FUNDING. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CALLS AND MESSAGES!
Thanks for all your efforts so far this year on the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) as Congress moves to reauthorize RTP in the national transportation bill. You have made a real difference. We know you have heard a lot from IMBA this year regarding RTP and we appreciate your continued attention.

As a result of grassroots support, and the leadership of U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar and others, RTP was restored in the Senate’s version of transportation reauthorization legislation (S. 1813). The initial House reauthorization bill (H.R. 7) also protected RTP.
But there is more to do, and we need your help once again!
As House and Senate leaders seek agreement on legislation that may ultimately become law it is imperative that they hear from you about the importance of RTP. Current discussions about unrelated programs may weaken RTP provisions. Please click the Take Action button above to send a letter to all House and Senate conferees urging them to retain dedicated funding for RTP.
As you know, the RTP is arguably the most important government program that benefits mountain bicyclists and funds the development and maintenance of thousands of miles of shared-use trails.
