Getting There

[Excerpt from Santa Fe official travel site – click for more details]

Santa Fe is located in Northern New Mexico, an hour's drive north of Albuquerque, the state's largest city and major air gateway. The Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) is serviced by all of the major U.S. airlines. Flying into Albuquerque and renting a car is by far the most popular way of traveling around New Mexico. But not the only way. Train service provides access to New Mexico on a daily basis as does the bus.

Lodging

We are pleased to offer special reduced-rate bookings at two of Santa Fe's finest hotels:

Hilton Santa Fe Historic Plaza – $164/night
Tel: 505-988-2811 or General Reservations at 800-HILTONS (800-445-8667). Individuals must identify themselves as being with the International Mountain Bicycling Association. Online booking also available.

Hotel Santa Fe – $159/night
Tel: 877-259-3409 • Fax: 505-955-7835 • Email: stay [at] hotelsantafe [dot] com
Booking #10C2M9 — International Mountain Bicycling Association

Both hotels are within walking distance to the World Summit. The Hilton is closer to the convention center; the Hotel Santa Fe is closer to the train station.

Pre-conference Field Trip

We are currently exploring the option of offering an all-day (Tues, Oct. 9) "riding" field trip to enjoy the fabulous NM trails outside of Santa Fe. Possibilities include: Angel Fire, Pajarito Mountain, and the South Boundary Trail. Details will be available soon; if interested, be sure to check the box during the registration process for more info to be sent to you.

Win a Bike!

We will be raffling a complete bike, courtesy of sponsors O'Leary Built Bicycles and BTI (both based in Santa Fe). During the Summit you'll have a chance to purchase tickets for this steel, 650B, Gates beltdrive SS hardtail, and take it home with you! As a bonus, early-bird registrants will receive 2 additional tickets to the drawing. All proceeds to benefit the local IMBA chapter, Santa Fe Fat Tire Society.

Bring Your Family

We encourage you to bring your family and make it a week-long Southwest getaway. IMBA will be coordinating with a local destination management company to offer discounted activities for non-attendees, things like museum visits, gallery stops, architectural tours and fine cuisine sampling. Be sure to indicate during the registration process that you'd like more information sent to you as it becomes available and plan to make a family vacation of it.

MTB Community Art Celebration and Poster Session

On Thursday evening we'll be gathering en masse to celebrate all things mountain bike. In addition to educational poster displays, we'll be showcasing the best of your MTB-related photographs, illustrations and video. Watch for our "call for entries" announcement in coming weeks for your chance to have your artistic creations be a part of the 2012 IMBA World Summit.

Speakers and Content

Attention storytellers, thought leaders, inspirational speakers and content experts!

A conference is only as strong as its content — and is largely judged based on the speakers. We are confident that our extended, global community of content experts and thought leaders will provide a highly fulfilling experience for our delegates in Santa Fe this fall. Please download and submit our RFP to propose topics and presenters. ***Deadline has been extended to June 1***

*Speakers chosen to present at the World Summit will qualify for half-price registration.

Social Media

We'll be utilizing social media outreach leading up to and during the 2012 IMBA World Summit. Whether on Facebook or foursquare, we encourage you to play along. Twitter: @IMBA_Events #IMBAsummitSF

Santa Fe, New Mexico will provide the backdrop to the 2012 IMBA World Summit. While Santa Fe is known around the world for its art and culture, it is also an incredible mountain biking destination. During the event, nearby trails will stimulate riders of all abilities. Attendees will be encouraged to make it a full week for professional development, rejuvenation, networking and, of course, great riding.
