Tamarack, Idaho

Project Type: construction
Length: 15 miles, jump park, challenge park (since 2003)
Use: mountain bike, hike, nordic ski
Dimensions: 18" to 4' wide

As the first new ski area to be developed in the United States in the last few decades, Trail Solutions is very proud to be playing an active role in the development of a four season resort, all of which can be accessed by bike, foot, or skis. On top of the natural surface transportation-oriented trails, the Trail Solutions team has designed and constructed miles of technical trails, a large dirt jump park featured in multiple bike magazines, and continues the development of a challenge park which is certain to gain similar exposure. The sky is truly the limit at this resort with almost 3,000 feet of vertical gain overlooking Lake Cascade, and the trail potential has only scratched the surface.

Steve Stuebner, a Tamarack spokesperson and author of three Idaho mountain biking guides, stated that "families will really enjoy riding with their kids through aspen, fir and pine trees on rolling, moderate terrain that's just about impossible to find anywhere else in Idaho. And, for those seeking more challenge, Tamarack's Challenge Park and Jump Park provide a new playground for Idaho's young aspiring mountain bikers, who can become world-class aerial specialists with a lot of practice. You need these facilities to create a training ground for the next generation of mountain bikers."
