Silver Mountain Resort, Idaho

Project Type: Design
Length: 10 miles in 2004
Use: mountain bike, hike
Dimensions: 18" to 36"

Eager to increase summer use at the resort and help develop the local Kellogg, Idaho economy, Silver Mountain Resort started planning a base area development. However, the resort did not have an extensive summer use trail system and no way to connect the base development with the land that they manage starting midway up the mountain. Trail Solutions was hired to give focus to the Resortís wishes for a trail system. This process included bringing the public up to speed on the Resortís plans in a series of meetings, educating the Silver Mountain staff on the intricacies of trail construction and maintenance, designing a connector from the ski area to the base area, and developing a construction staging plan.
