Meet the Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crews
Chris & Leslie Kehmeier
As part of a tight knit mountain community in Colorado, Chris and Leslie balanced the demands of professional careers with a passion for trails. With backgrounds in horticulture and GIS respectively, they were an integral part of ECO Trails, the leading advocacy group in Eagle County. Leslie served as a board member for several years, while Chris volunteered as a crew leader for trail work days. Together, they played key roles in working with the BLM and USFS to inventory, plan, and build trails. In 2007 Leslie and Chris hung up their pulaskis, sold everything, and toured the world on bicycles. Now they’re back and are eager to trade in touring slicks for full suspension knobbies and put their collective life experience to work for the Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew.
Steve & Morgan Lommele
One glance at Steve and Morgan Lommele's passports will reveal that they've seen more places than most people do in a lifetime. On one hand, Steve is fluent in Spanish, with experience living in Spain and worldwide travel. Morgan one-ups her husband with Belgian-American dual citizenship and fluency in French and German. They have extensive experience with public speaking, facilitation, collaborative processes, communications and, of course, mountain biking! Morgan and Steve are leaving behind jobs as facilitator/mediator for an environmental consulting firm and communications specialist for the National Renewable Energy Lab (respectively) to head out on the road in a Subaru. As an added bonus, they both hold Masters degrees in Environmental Policy and Management and have travelled to 49 of the nation's 50 states, as well as every world continent (minus Antarctica).
