Volunteers crank up trailwork season on the Stile Ranch Trail.
Western region Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew leaders Nat and Rachael Lopes began their second year on the road in northern California by teaming with a group of die-hard volunteers for a trail repair session. The local club, the Responsible Organized Mountain Peddlers (ROMP) , is one of five clubs that came together to form IMBA in 1988. ROMP hosted yet another great event in a long series of Trail Care Crew projects in the Bay area. Santa Teresa County Park was the focus for the visit this time. Wide-spread publicity, beautiful weather, and dedicated volunteers combined for lots of productive trailwork. The group transformed an eroded trail with six switchbacks into a water-draining, buffed-out and sustainable piece of sweetness.
More than 25 people participated on Saturday and Sunday to give back to the land and trails they cherish. This equaled more than 250 hours of volunteer work. Best of all, a damaged trail was repaired and everyone had fun. Thanks!
