Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew Rolls to State College's Rothrock

September, 2002 found the Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew invading State College, PA to attack the famed and aptly named Rothrock State Forest. Working through the first rain of the summer with the sterling staff of The Bicycle Shop, the Nittany Mountain Biking Association, Nittany Velo Club, and Penn State Cycling Club, the Crew constructed a large switchback and approximately 200 feet of full bench cut trail on Tussey Mountain that will eventually provide an all singletrack route from valley to ridgetop of this favorite State College riding area.

This weekend's work also included an appearance at the Laurel Classic race in Tioga State Forest and a fittingly academic twist for the college town visit - a Trail Care Crew lecture on Designing Multiple Use Trails to Dr. Laurie Harmon's Penn State Recreation and Facilities Management class.
