Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crews 2002
Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew: Lora Woolner and Mark Schmidt
Mark Schmidt and Lora Woolner of Ontario, Canada will travel throughout the Western U.S. and parts of Canada. Both bring a strong background in trailbuilding, event coordination, and advocacy. They have worked as instructors for W.O.W. Ltd. and Hardwood Hills Cross Country Ski and Mountain Bike Centre, teaching everything from bike skills classes to mountain bike repair. For the past four years Lora has worked as the Mountain Bike Coordinator for Kelso Conservation Area. Mark is an industrial designer who is looking forward to applying his award-winning design skills to the trail.
Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew: Scott Linnenburger and Aaryn Kay
The latest addition to the Trail Care Crew program is the duo of Scott Linnenburger and Aaryn Kay. Scott and Aaryn will travel the Eastern U.S. and Canada in their 2002 Subaru Outback. For the last four years, Scott worked as an environmental consultant dealing primarily with wetlands and water quality issues. He worked with land managers in multi-use forests in the North Carolina Mountains, Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. Aaryn worked for the last five years at Duke University's Center for Environmental Education, first as a research assistant, and most recently as the Director of Community Education. Scott and Aaryn both received Masters in Environmental Management degrees from Duke University in 1998.
Joey Klein and Rich Edwards: Trails Specialists
Joey and Rich remain affiliated with IMBA, but in a new capacity. Veterans of the Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew program, these experts have taught thousands of people the fundamentals of sustainable trails. Joey and Rich now provide top-notch consulting services on trail layout, construction and maintenance to land management agencies and other groups around the world.
