NMBP Instructor Certification Program
Thank you to the 50+ NMBP members who attended the 2011 instructor trainings! The schedule for 2012 will be announced when it's available.
Instructor certification webinars are open to all current NMBP patrollers in good standing with their local NMBP chapter (if applicable).
All instructor certifications expire after three years. At that point, the instructor needs to retake the webinar.
Grandfather clause: Instructors previously trained by the NMBP are not required to be recertified until Sept. 1, 2010 provided they have taught five or more NMBP members within the past two years. All others are expected to take the webinar instruction. Instructors who are grandfathered in are expected to take a recertification class within the next two years.
The session will last approximately two hours, and will cover topics including:
- Instructor Roles
- Instructor Expectations
- Teaching Method
- Communication
- Riding Skills
- Trail Etiquette
- And much more!
Participants will call in to a teleconference, and they will simultaneously log on to a website where they will be guided through the certification presentation.
While the webinar is not the perfect solution, it is currently the most cost-effective and convenient method to certify instructors.
